Dr Rich Ferrie

As CEO of LBIC, Rich leads the development and implementation of the company’s growth strategy, ensuring that LBIC continues to play a key role driving life science innovation. His work shapes the future of biotech entrepreneurship and supports the growth of dynamic life science companies across London and beyond.

Rich is an innovation specialist and his career features leadership roles in both industry and academia. At AstraZeneca, Rich held various scientific and business development roles in its Diagnostics subsidiary culminating in leading its Sales & Marketing function internationally. This laid the foundation for his work bridging the gap between scientific discovery and commercial application both at University of Manchester and at UCC in Ireland, where he was its first Director of Innovation. Rich serves as a Director of the King’s Cross Knowledge Quarter, the organisation leading London’s highest profile innovation district, as well as being a Director of Camden Town Unlimited, the Business Improvement District of Camden Town. 

Rich holds a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Sussex and a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Reading and is also a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP).
