About us

A proven track record of supporting and nurturing early-stage bioscience entrepreneurs through to scale-up success since 2000.

Introducing LBIC

The London BioScience Innovation Centre (LBIC) serves as a central hub for life sciences in London, offering exceptionally high-quality lab and office facilities with the specialist support services companies need to commercialise and thrive.

Established in 2000, LBIC was created to address the acute shortage of lab space for life sciences in central London. A key part of the London Development Agency’s strategy for life sciences, LBIC’s objective was to advance a commercial life sciences cluster around the capital’s world-class knowledge base.

Owned by the prestigious Royal Veterinary College, and with facilities co-located, LBIC offers its community access to top-tier research, biological support services, cutting-edge equipment and skilled bioscience graduates.

Our community includes more than 60 biotech and life science companies (25 resident and remaining virtual) spanning product development, diagnostics, CROs, and medical devices. Clients benefit from shared networking spaces, events, and dedicated operational and business support teams with years of experience in building and supporting biotech businesses. With a deep understanding of the drivers for success and an ability to anticipate potential roadblocks, these teams are a valued and trusted resource.

Our Location

In the heart of London’s life science ecosystem

Located in London’s King's Cross Knowledge Quarter, LBIC offers unparalleled access to the UK’s vibrant life sciences network. Just a ten-minute walk from King's Cross, St Pancras, and Euston stations, and within an hour’s train journey to Cambridge and Oxford, LBIC connects clients to the country’s other major life sciences clusters. With the Eurostar terminal at St Pancras International, access to European opportunities and markets is also under two hours away.

LBIC: CVRM is located in the Centre for Vaccinology and Regenerative Medicine (CVRM) on the RVC’s Hawkshead campus in Potters Bar, just 30 minutes from Kings Cross by train. The new state-of-the-art CVRM is home to world-leading experts in vaccines and stem cell research. It provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with resident Principal Investigators in core research areas, bringing together top veterinary and human medical science researchers to advance the ‘One Health’ approach to accelerate the development of new vaccines and cell therapies.
